ANOTHER AWESOME SALE SUCCESS
2018 has been another wonderful year for LUC’s Awesome Sales.
The results of the October Sale was very good! In fact they enabled LUC to attain its goal for the year. Without revenue from furniture sales, the 2018 results are even more pleasing.
There are so many vital elements that produce such results. Certainly, the donated goods to sell are needed. Supply never seems to be a problem! Thank you, Donors!
The key ingredient is, as always, the people. It is truly amazing to be working with such a wonderfully dedicated group of volunteers whose common purpose and hundreds of hours of collective effort, produce a”Miracle on Millwood”.
To you, we extend our heartfelt gratitude!
As many know, 25% of the Sales” revenue goes directly for the Outreach work of our church. This enables LUC to support and/or sponsor many groups such as refugee families, Out-of-the-cold, Food Bank, shelter and other church’s programs.
Awesome Sales are very ‘GREEN’ events. Over 90% of the donated goods are reused, resold or redirected for use. Cerebral Palsy took away 2 truckloads of unsold Oct. sale goods. About 40 cartons of unsold books shall be delivered to Sunnybrook Health Centre, The Robarts Library at U. of T. and to The Children’s Book Bank. “Free” book shopping on Saturday is provided for reps from both Women’s College Heath Centre and from Victoria College at U. of T.
So, there is indeed, much for which to be grateful and to celebrate.
Once again, a warm and sincere “Thank You” to all who continue to ensure that the LUC Awesome Sale is a “Miracle on Millwood!”
