Carols by Candlelight Service at Leaside UC – Dec 10, 2023

On Sunday, Dec 10 at 7:30pm we had our annual Carols by Candlelight service, featuring more than 40 singers from Northlea UC and Leaside UC with carols, readings, prayers, and lots of wonderful anthems! Worship at Leaside United Church – Dec 10, 2023

Sunday, Dec 10 is Advent II and we continued our theme “Do Not Be Afraid” with Do Not Be Afraid to Hold Peace. Music this week included “There’s a Voice in the Wilderness” and “Come Now, O God of Peace.” The choir anthem was “Jesus Christ the Apple Tree” by Elizabeth Poston. The Advent Wagon tradition also continued and the congregation was invited to bring hats, mitts, and scarves to help those in need. If you wish to watch the Advent II service please click this LINK.

Workship at Leaside United Church – Dec 3, 2023

Sunday, Dec 3 was Advent I and we began our theme “Do Not Be Afraid” with Do Not Be Afraid to Hold Hope. Music this week included some new music, including a new arrangement by Matt that will he will sing as our Call to Worship and the choir anthem “Thou Shalt Know Him.” The Advent Wagon tradition also began and the congregation was invited to bring full-sized toiletries. Graham Lute was our Minute Person this Sunday to speak about Stewardship. Children’s Worship explored the same thing, and the craft can double as an ornament! If you wish to listen to the service please click this LINK. Worship at Leaside United Church – Nov 26, 2023

November 26 we continued a mini two week Stewardship series. This week was “Noticing Jesus.” On behalf of the LUC Stewardship Action 2024 Campaign, “Branching Out,” Bill Pashby was the Minute Person at the Sunday service. Our November In the Wild gathering was also this Sunday at 9:30am on the Church Lawn. This is a time for spirituality in nature for all ages as we reflect on kindness with prayer and activities. After the service, the congregation was invited for a Reception in the Jean Bruce Gallery, hosted by Sue Park, Director of the Trace Manes School. To listen to the service, please click this LINK.
