A big thank you to the LUC congregation, Leaside community and volunteers for their support at last week’s Pancake Supper. More than 100 people enjoyed pancakes, real maple syrup, bacon, sausage, fruit, ice cream and coffee/tea. You helped raise $1300 for the children of Honduras. A special thank you to Valu Mart and White House Meats for providing the groceries. It was a great community event! We are headed to Honduras this Friday and will keep you posted about our time with the kids and teachers at El Hogar!

Outreach Update – Coldest Night of the Year Walk

March 2, 2019

To further our commitment, on February 23rd  a small but mighty group from Leaside United Church, raised $2000 walking  in the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY), a fundraiser for the  Evergreen Centre of the Yonge Street Mission.

The downtown walk raised more than  $1,500,000 and the entire  walk raised over $5 million dollars for charities serving hungry, homeless, and hurting people in our community.  

World Day of Prayer – St. Cuthbert’s Church March 1st

St. Cuthbert’s Leaside Church, 1399 Bayview Avenue (416) 485-0329 , is this year’s host for the World Day of Prayer. The service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019, at 2:00 pm.

Each year the women of a different country are chosen to write the service. This year’s beautiful service has been written by the women of Slovenia, with the theme Come Everything is ready!

Pancakes & Plaid – Shrove Tuesday

Wear your favourite plaid and join us (and some of our great staff pictured below) for Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 6:00pm in the gymnasium at Leaside United Church. Good will offering goes towards the El Hogar Service Team trip to Honduras this March. All are welcome!
