Spirit Alive – Saturday, December 8, 2018

Spirit Alive, Saturday December 8, 2018, 10:00 a.m.

Lucy Burke will be our leader

The Sacred Matter of Our Lives.

The Material can hold a deep sense of the Spiritual.  Every Object has a Story to Tell.

Look around your home/office/workshop, and bring some little thing/object to our gathering, which is a cherished part of your life, from near or far, that holds special meaning for you, and sparks joy in you.  It may be a travel treasure, an everyday tool or implement, something you made, or something that many others were part of making, anything at all that calls to you.

Consider and savour three aspects as you contemplate your object:  1) why it sparks joy and holds your interest; 2) it’s physicality – it’s texture, shape, colour, weight, construction; 3) what forward energy might it offer you or our world.

Then come and share your object and it’s story with the group.  All are welcome.

Flemingdon Park Ministries Outreach

Leaside has teamed up with Flemingdon Park Ministries to sponsor a Community Dinner on Thursday December 20th at Valley Park Public School. FPM is an Anglican Ministry situated at 10 Gateway in Flemingdon Park. It has been active in the area for 40 years. The current leader, Reverend Beverley Williams has launched several innovative new programs. One is a monthly community dinner with sponsorship from various organizations, This has proven very successful for community outreach, and we are pleased to be hosting in December. The meal is catered, and we will provide beverages, and volunteers for set up, and “restaurant style” serving. We are looking for volunteers to join in this exciting local outreach opportunity. If you can come for an hour or stay for the full event, your presence would be most welcome.

Please contact: Neal Kelly at neal.kelly@opg.com or Lynda Miller at miller.lynda@gmail.com. It will be a fun evening and we look forward to sharing the experience with you.
