Quick Q & A with our Treasurer & Rentals Coordinator … Ann Fraser

Ann Fraser joined the LUC team in June of 2018.  It’s been a whirlwind of busyness since then as Ann tackles the position of Treasurer and Rentals Coordinator for Leaside United Church.  Recently, she took a quick break to answer a few questions about her life outside of her new responsibilities at LUC.

Any upcoming travel plans?

In December my whole family is going to Costa Rica. There are 24 for us, 10 adults, including my parents, and 14 children, all first cousins. Their ages are between 9 and 23. We try to vacation together regularly but haven’t been south since 2010. Everyone is excited.

If you had to eat one thing for every meal going forward, what would you eat?

Honey. Each year my Dad sources a honey producer near his farm and purchases about 150 pounds to be distributed between himself and his daughters. He calls it liquid gold and I couldn’t agree more.

If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, whose would they be? Why?

Bill Gates. I would love to experience his level of intelligence and the pleasure that philanthropy must bring to those in need and your overall well being.

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

Don’t ever think you are incapable of achieving your dreams. You’re smarter than you realize.

Where is your happy place?

Home.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Netflix

What do you give a damn about?

Garbage. My kids call me the garbage police and I admit to having garbage anxiety. Recycling is helpful but we all need to reduce the amount of garbage we create. It’s everyone’s problem, not just that of business and governments.

For what are you most grateful today?

My family. The “accident of birth” can be extremely cruel or extremely kind. Luckily I fell into the latter. Not only do I have wonderful parents who are healthy and live full happy lives, I have 3 siblings who are my best friends.

What’s your hidden talent?

Salsa dancing

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

Learn a new language and spend time with people who are lonely.

Thank you Ann for giving us a little glimpse in to your life outside of the church. MAKE SURE to Pop by Ann’s office the next time you are in the church to say “Hi”!
