Third Sunday of Lent – March 12, 2023

We celebrated the third Sunday in Lent by hearing the parable of the Vineyard Labourers (Matthew 20:1-15). Our opening hymn was Spirit, Open My Heart, and Matt played the first of our Lenten Improvisation Offertories. To view the service, click on this LINK.

Second Sunday of Lent – March 5, 2023

We heard a reading from the Gospel according to Matthew, as well as a couple of verses from the Gospel according to Thomas (which we will hear read one other Sunday during Lent). We also heard two anthems, Stainer’s God So Loved the World, and Mendelssohn’s Lift Thine Eyes. Our closing hymn was the lovely ‘Tis the Gift to Be Simple. To view the service, click on this LINK.

Sunday, February 5, 2023

Last Sunday was the Fifth Sunday of Epiphany and the theme was Black History. This Sunday our music includes the solo Nobody Knows de Trouble I’ve Seen, and the anthem Rise Up, My Love. Our hymns include Shall We Gather at the River. This is also the first of three weeks when we sing I’m Gonna Live So God Can Use Me as our introit, and a verse from I’ve Got Peace Like a River as our sung blessing.
