Fundraiser
Thank you! You helped raise $1,300
A big thank you to the LUC congregation, Leaside community and volunteers for their support at last week’s Pancake Supper. More than 100 people enjoyed pancakes, real maple syrup, bacon, sausage, fruit, ice cream and coffee/tea. You helped raise $1300 for the children of Honduras. A special thank you to Valu Mart and White House Meats for providing the groceries. It was a great community event! We are headed to Honduras this Friday and will keep you posted about our time with the kids and teachers at El Hogar!
Enjoy these pictures captured by our volunteer photographer Murray Fenner.
Snowbirds ready for Pancakes & Plaid!
These two familiar snowbirds are sad to be missing our Pancakes & Plaid event coming up on Tuesday March 5th but, they are with us in spirit 2,200 kms away in Florida already decked out in their best plaid!
And to give you hope that spring is truly around the corner … a lovely rainbow they captured yesterday while we were knee deep in a snow storm.
Outreach Update – Coldest Night of the Year Walk
To further our commitment, on February 23rd a small but mighty group from Leaside United Church, raised $2000 walking in the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY), a fundraiser for the Evergreen Centre of the Yonge Street Mission.
The downtown walk raised more than $1,500,000 and the entire walk raised over $5 million dollars for charities serving hungry, homeless, and hurting people in our community.
