Renovation Highlights

March 25, 2019

RENOVATION HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:

Last week we heard about the Kitchenette, and this week we turn to the exterior. During the fall, 67% of people who completed the Renovation Prioritization Feedback agreed that a welcoming and invitational landscape should be a high priority, while most others who responded thought it should be improved, but with a lower budget. We’re happy to share several areas of improvement, and are also sorry to tell you about one area where we can’t do what we wanted. From a timing point of view , the Kitchenette will be an initial fall 2019 project whereas outside exterior work and landscaping will be one of the last projects – 2020.

Need a Ride to Church or a Church Activity?

We may have the answer! We can provide taxi chits for folks who are having difficulty getting a ride to church. If the person who normally gives you a ride is away, or perhaps you have a medical issue and can’t drive yourself, we may be able to provide a taxi slip for a Beck Cab to pick you up and return you home. George Hurst has kindly offered to launch The Ride to Church program. If you would like to learn more, please call George at 416-421-649 or call Alison in the church office at (416) 425-1253 and she will see that George gets your message!

Special Weather Notice

Tuesday February 12, 2019

Due to the snow storm in Toronto today many of the programs at Leaside United Church have been canceled including Mrs. Park’s School, Badminton and the North Toronto Book Study.

However, the church is open until 4:00pm so you will not find locked doors when you arrive. Please check with the convener of your program before coming to the church as it may be canceled.

Travel safe, stay indoors and check on neighbours, friends and family!
