Let’s Do Lunch!

Sunday, November 18th, 2018 – 11:45am Auditorium

LEASIDE UNITED CHURCH – hosted by the LUC Renovation Team

LET’S DO LUNCH:

We are pleased to invite you to an important opportunity to analyze the revised conceptual drawings and defined scope of work for our renovation plans.  A light lunch of pizza (vegetarian and gluten free will be available) and salad will be provided (bring a brown bag lunch if this is not to your liking).

The Leaside United Church Renovation Team listened carefully to you and your unique perspectives and needs during and after last month’s Lunch and Learn (October 21st) and the Town Hall (October 28th). As well as having insightful individual conversations and feedback via email and written responses the team along with the Larkin architects were able to further tweak the plans.

Lunch and Learn & Townhall Q and A

Today as a congregation we are seeing the ‘Vision’, and the questions related to the ‘Vision’. The Vision is approximately double our available funds so … over the next month or so we will be seeking more input on proposals about what will be done and what will not be done.

We are using the previous Q & A, the Lunch & Learn input cards, the active Listeners and emailed comments from people in the proposals to implement parts of the Vision.

Watch for next steps…

Here are the questions and answers generated for the team and the architects from two sessions held at the Leaside United Church hosted by the LUC Renovation Team … a Lunch and Learn on October 21st and a Townhall on October 28th.

LUC Renovation Team Communiqué – Re-Cap Lunch & Learn

October 25, 2018

Last Sunday we enjoyed a time of discussion, reflection and feedback at a Lunch and Learn hosted by the LUC Renovation Team with guests Larkin Architects, Roberto Chiotto and Michael Nicholas-Schmidt.

The attendance and energy of the gathering was significant and appreciable. The questions were insightful and meaningful … watch for a detailed summary of the Q & A next week.

The  Renovation Team is now absorbing all the congregation comments and questions raised in order to prioritize our needs. Our next steps are to determine the key projects with our architects and fit these to our budget. Overall our desires will cost us about double our budget which unfortunately is not feasible or acceptable. We know people will understand  we can not fulfill every desire and there will be some people who may be disappointed. We are very fortunate to be in a position to have a good budget to work with and we do not wish to go over budget or be in a position to have to raise additional capital now or in the near future.

As requested here is the presentation we enjoyed by Larkin Architects at the Lunch & Learn on October 21st, 2018. …
