How did they do that?

The Scoop Behind That Virtual Choir Video :

It all started with a Zoom call (where else?).

I was brainstorming with members of the Leaside Chancel Choir about how – in a time of lockdown and social distancing – they could still contribute to Sunday worship.

The church suspended live Sunday worship on March 13, and have been sharing half-hour video of the service with the congregation. Everyone involved in the church services recorded or contributed “live” from home.

Worship at Home – May 10th | Mother’s Day & Christian Family Sunday

Fifth Sunday of Easter | May 10, 2020

Happy Mother’s Day

Today we celebrate Mother’s Day and Christian Family Sunday with a pre-recorded service that celebrates our choir and congregation.

You’re invited to Worship together at 10:30 am one of two ways (view the bulletin and music notes here).

(1) Share worship together through Zoom:
Gather any time after 10 for the 10:30 service. We’ll watch the service together, followed by an opportunity to wish one another the Peace of Christ and share in conversation. (Check your email for the links)

Gather 9:45-10 am to take part in the half hour children’s program before the service.

(2) Watch on YouTube (it will premiere at 10:30 am):

We look forward to worshiping together, from a distance.

COVID-19 Team Report

On March 11, 2020 the Council approved a COVID 19 Team, comprised of Rev. Emily Gordon, Lis Lister, Barb Kinnear, Janet Clark, and Anne Raby (Chair) with the purpose to provide guidance regarding needed safety actions for membership, staff and community as they pertain to the novel coronavirus. Understanding, that many of these actions would involve the staff, renters and the building it was crucial to have Ann Fraser as an adviser.
