Worship at Home Resources

The Second Sunday after Epiphany “Will You Come?”

This Sunday January 17th, we hear the story of Jesus finding two disciples, Philip and Nathaniel. What does the invitation to “Come and See” mean for us, right now?

Our service will include Psalm 139 and the hymn “I am the Light of the World.” If you are joining over Zoom, we’ll also hear “I Am Offering this Poem” by Jimmy Santiago Baca and the hymn “Will You Come and See the Light.”

Join us for worship at 10:30 on Zoom, or join for conversation at 11:15am.

For the Stories and Craft program, you will need a bowl, milk, food colouring, and dish soap. Intrigued? Watch the program at 9:55am on Zoom, or any time on YouTube.

Next Sunday January 24th, 2021:

Guest preacher Rev. Miriam Spies will be joining us.

Miriam Spies is an ordained minister, currently pursuing PhD studies at Emmanuel College. Her current work surrounds disability and practical theology and disability studies, looking at how congregations can best support disabled leadership. Her Cerebral Palsy impacts her speech, so the text of her sermon will be provided.

Epiphany I – “Magi and Mystery” – Sunday January 10th, 2021

This Sunday we listen to the story of the Magi visiting Jesus. Emily draws on a few different versions to listen to the story. How might we be like the Magi changed by our journey this past way?

Our worship on Zoom will also include a time to share in prayer together.

Whichever way you join in worship this morning, join Zoom at 11:15am for a time of conversation.

Our children’s program is also about the Magi, and can be watched at 9:55am on Zoom or any time on YouTube. If you missed last Sunday’s program, take a few minutes to watch this first program led by Rebecca!

Next Sunday
Our theme next week is “Will You Come?” as we hear the first of two weeks of stories of disciples being called by Jesus.

On January 24th we look forward to being joined by guest preacher Rev. Miriam Spies, member of the World Council of Churches Central Committee, current PhD student at Emmanuel College, and preacher at the opening worship of General Council 43 in 2018.
