Leaside United Church (LUC) has been fortunate to have a strong connection to El Hogar for many years through the generosity and dedication of a large number of volunteers. The mission of El Hogar Projects is to provide a loving home and education for abandoned, orphaned and hopelessly poor children in Honduras. We provide ongoing fundraising, annual sponsorship of three children and send Service Teams to Honduras every two years. These teams of about 14 people generally consist of equal numbers of teens and adults. Volunteers have the opportunity to connect with the children and also work on a project at the school. LUC has a team going to El Hogar in March 2016.
