Sunrise Gathering for Truth and Reconciliation

Today, September 30th, is the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation here and across Canada.

Leaside United held a sunrise gathering this morning and planted “Every Child Matters” signs and tied trees and benches with orange ribbons in remembrance of the tragedies many indigenous communities of people experienced from residential schools.

Don Valley West MP, Rob Oliphant encouraged us into personal reflection and acknowledged the witness Leaside United is committing to with the recognition of this observance today and each year and the days in between, hereafter.
